Which motherboard is the best all rounder?

Edit: title should be which is best mobo out of these four

I am looking to buy a z87 mobo and have a short list of 4 and would like some opinions on which mobo is most recommended?

    MSI Z87- GD65 Gaming ATX
    MSI MPower Max Z87
    ASROCK Fatal1ty Z87
    ASUS Z87 Expert

I am leaning towards the Msi Mpower Max right now but would like some other feedback from people who own these mobos and are more tech savvy than myself

It will be used mainly for gaming

Re: Which motherboard is the best all rounder?

I always buy Gigabyte boards these days, because they are made to be more durable and are just generally better build quality. Their dual BIOS is also handy when overclocking etc.

The last Asus board I had used an awful BIOS that was buggy as hell, not bought any since. MSI are usually ok but nothing special (though MSI's RMA service is pretty poor, you can wait a month for a replacement). Don't know about Asrock.

Re: Which motherboard is the best all rounder?

I recently upgraded to an Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO, has a 4670K rock solid at 4.7Ghz

I was also looking at the MSI Z87-GD65 and the Gigabyte Z87X-OC, but though I'd give the ROG a try - having not owned one before as they were always premium priced.

Personally I would say either a Asus MAXIMUS VI HERO or a Asus Sabertooth motherboard. I have the Asus MAXIMUS IV FORMULAR and its a amazing board its just a bit pricey, I regret spending that much and should have purchased a HERO instead.

Out of those four, probably the ASROCK Fatal1ty Z87, unless you have a wireless network and want to use the integrated wireless from the Asus rather than your own board.

    MSI Z87 Gaming.
Build one recently into a system and no complains whatsoever.
    Or simply choose by price.
But you shouldn't end up screwed with either.

I didn't had any issues and a i5-4670 ticks at 4.3Ghz in it without any issues. I would say - go for it.

Re: Which motherboard is the best all rounder?

The problem is unless the people answering your question have hands on experience of all 4 makes then you're may just be getting subjective bias based on there recent purchase.

I will give you my anecdotal experience and you can extrapolate from it what you will. I used both Gigabyte and Asus motherboard for both Z68 and X79. Sorry I can't yet go into too much detail but I would advise anybody to go with Asus every time. (though I quite like the Gigabyte UP5) The Asus bios is just so well implemented. Just one point to aid my case. I had one of Gigabytes flagship motherboards in the X79 Assassin 2. The latest official bios for that board as of me writing this message is a beta bios from November last year. (and this is not because it's stable!) The Asus X79 Sabertooth is from last month.
