Angry Desktop sounds are going through microphone

For some reason whenever i'm on skype or teamspeak (or whatever it may be), the sounds like game sounds or youtube videos always go through my microphone. It's definetly not my headset because i used a different mic which was underneath my bed and had my sound playing through my headset and it still played through the microphone. The only temporary but annoying fix to this is to have my volume at ~30.

Realtek ALC887 @ Intel Cougar Point PCH - High Definition Audio Controller

Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.6662 (which isn't the latest but when i use the latest it creates a ton of static so i downgraded back to this version)

Try using the back panel audio connectors, front panel audio is noted for using rubbish quality components.

check to ensure that your audio is definitely mic and not "what you hear"..... control panel, sounds, recording.......

For some reason my system defaults regular to the "what u hear" option and i have to change it back about 2 times a week

I tried both of those options and am currently using the back audio connectors and still to no avail. And i am not using the "what you hear" option as i have checked it multiple times prior to making this post.

Make sure you dont have your microphone set as a speaker on your audio settings
