The built in cards don't work in a Hackintosh. Can the mini PCI be replaced with one like the Asus Z87N Pro? If so, where can you buy them or does anyone want to sell one that they don't use?

You mighty get people leaping around about the Hackintosh bit, its one of the things that tends not to be discussed about on here (legal reasons). I had a triple boot setup on a netbook a few years ago, and opted for DW1390 to get OSX working, its only B/G though. Looking at that board I cant see any reason why you couldn't replace the wifi card with one that's OSX compatible.
Aye, even knowing nothing about Hack-Mac, I would say your best option would be a Intel based card, make sure it is a half size mini-PCIe. eBay has many, so does have Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 on eBuyer or Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 at Scan.co.uk.

None off the intel cards have supported drivers I'm afraid. I was looking at an Intel one until I found out. I think it would have to be some sort of Atheros chipset.
Unfortunately the DW1390 would be too long for the slot, it would have to be similar to the 2230. Still looking
Ebay lists Atheros based half-mini PCIe network cards from £1.50 with 802.11B/G/N support and free shipping. If you don't need 802.11A 5Ghz support, £1.50 is a fair price even for a experiment.
By the way, what network drivers are available in that OSX for Atheros? Followed by the version you could determine the lowest supported chipset.
