my MoBo is GA-P55-US3L (rev. 1.0) it only has 2.0 PCIe, and all modern GPU's are 3.0 i know there backwards compatible but how much slower will the GPU be.

Around 2-3% and mostly only noticeable in benchmarks.
Only high end GPUs can take full advantage of the higher bandwidth 3.0 brings to the table - even then it's not a huge amount of difference.

Apparently it can help if you are doing crossfire or SLI with lots of graphics cards. I say apparently because I don't know a single person that does that, but have read about it.
So don't worry about it.

According to this not even SLI or high end cards or high end card SLI gain much from multiple lanes etc. Meh. What else to add.

I have the same mobo Ga P55 US3l but rev 2.0. Been looking to upgrade my aging ati 5770 to a AMD r7 260x or GTX 750 or 660 etc but was worried about compatibility, I e mail gigabyte who said the AMD R9 270 may not work due to bios limitations. Just wondered what you are or was running on your mobo and if had any issues. Cheers
