Gigabyte Z77-D3H questions, maybe a longshot

    Hi all,

I have a couple of questions and the official support hasn't got back to me yet so I'm hoping I might be able to get some answers here while I wait.

1/ Has anyone used the mSATA slot for a boot drive with this model? Is it just a case of disabling the ISRT options in the BIOS and letting the OS find the drive during the install process?

2/ Has anyone installed an OS onto this board WITHOUT adding a graphics card? I'm trying to do an install using just the onboard Intel graphics but it bails after the boot loader with either Win7 or a couple of Linux distros. The same hardware but adding a graphics card installs no problem.

If anyone has any thoughts then I can elaborate on the exact details of 2/ by return.

    Thanks in advance.

Small update - No clue on 1/ but 2/ seems to be an incompatible PSU. I've not had a combo like this before where additional items were needed to boot.

I've seen plenty of builds where there were too many cards overwhelming the PSU but not the reverse.

Hope I'm not too late, but I have the same board with an i3 3220. I don't remember having any issues installing Windows 7 while using the IGP. Did you manage to find out whether it was the PSU that was acting up?
