You're unlikely to have any issue from any manufacturer these days.

What features do you want? Which boards are you considering?

A good £50-60 motherboard that's good and not discontinued in 6 months something that will last for a while

    Right.

Buy any 1150 motherboard. Given what you've just said, it'll make no difference. "Good" is not a definition of what you need.

in 6 months, it's likely most 1150 boards will be discontinued.

All will last a while unless it's faulty, which there is nothing you can do about really.

    Re: intel 1150 motherboard

Even old boards from reputable manufacturers can last well into replacement time. I'm in the process of building my new rig although the old one, on an ASUS P5K-E, is still going strong after nearly six years (I need a bit more grunt for a few reasons). That implies to me that an 1150 socket board now will last at least as long even if it is discontinued in a few months.

    Re: intel 1150 motherboard

Most boards live a heck of a long time if you treat it right. You are more likely to replace a board/platform due to an upgrade than it being faulty.

Boards are pretty solid these days; I still have an AM2 board that works (although I did bork the BIOS ROM and 2 DDIMs are not functioning). And that is by ECS!

"I’d tell you the one about the CIDR block, but you’re too classy" ||| "There’s no place like 127.0.0.1" ||| "I made an NTP joke once. The timing was perfect."
"In high society, TCP is more welcome than UDP. At least it knows a proper handshake."

possible crossfire board and upgrading at my leisure does the 1150 over heat a little more than 1155

1150 vs 1155 is just a socket difference. It is not related to heat directly. That's more to do with the CPU you choose.

You can upgrade the system, but these days people tend to upgrade in cycles - so motherboard and CPU get done together. The next set of processors will not use the same socket as the current one, so you're limited to the current CPUs. Memory and GPU can be upgraded at a later stage without any hassle if needed.

Lots of boards support Crossfire, so consider a little bit more:

    Are you overclocking?
How many USB ports do you need? How many need to be USB3?
    Are you using RAID?
What are you using the system for?

    and so on....

We really need a lot more details to be able to advice you on any particular board. Currently you're question is quite close to saying "Recommend me a car. I'd like to be able to change the wheels on it later"

Give us a bit more (including budget) and we can start pointing some out

    Re: intel 1150 motherboard

We need to know what cpu you are putting in it as well? No good recommending a H81 board and then you get a K series cpu and probably not be able to overclock on it.
