I would also recommend, before you splash out the new motherboard, verifying that 4770Ks graphics drivers "play nice" at 4K on your monitor.

I had not end of trouble trying to get an old Intel G45 chipset to work with HD-DVD i.e. Would never stay in-sync with the audio - I gave up eventually.

Anandtech's Forums tend to have a lot more experienced contributors who maybe able to clarify.

    Good Luck

    Thanks again, Gronich.

I understand that there are some recently released Intel drivers for HD4600 which make things a whole lot slicker with Ultrahigh resolution content. I would check it out, but I want to sell my existing unused board as just that - unused.

I will check out the anandtech forums.

    Regards

    KSR

Maybe some recreational use as well? No harm in that but I do agree with the over the top if its purely office stuff.

thats a bit overkill for what you want to do on a 4k monitor since theres not many things for 4k at the moment anyway

I think you should just check if it works, and if it is buggy/laggy, just get a GPU with DisplayPort out and while you wait just lower the resolution.
