x99 vs Z170 (5820k v Skylake)
I'm building a new PC for the launch of windows 10 - CPU has to be intel...
Use: trading, video editing, gaming (all in one device)
So I've been wondering:
1. Should adopt the x99 platform and get a 5820k?
2. Or wait for Skylake and Z170 - however - I've seen early graphs indicating that the Skylake CPUs won't be as good as 5820K?
3. How long will x99, LGA 2011-v3 socket be supported? (i don't want to invest if the socket is not going to be supported in the future when we have skylake and cannon lake around the corner)
Any input would be much appreciated.

Re: x99 vs Z170 (5820k v Skylake)
All depends.
If you will regularly use multithreaded programs then go for x99
I'd say if you rarely gonna use multi threaded programs then skylake.
A skylake system will come up much cheaper than the x99 platform.
Gaming won't really make use of x99 boost in performance unless playing certain games.
Trading I don't know about tbh.
Ask yourself what you will primarily use it for out of the three and then tailor to that .
