Slow POST
Bit of an odd one this. I used to struggle to be able to get into my BIOS pages because my PC would POST and start to load the OS incredibly quickly. It would literally be loading the OS before the keyboard could initialise. However over the last month or so I've noticed that this is no longer the case. It will sit at the POST screen for a lot longer now even though I've not actually done anything to change the hardware or BIOS etc.
It's not a problem as such - if anything it allows me to get into the BIOS hah! I'm just wondering what might have caused it. Ta :)

Re: Slow POST
It's probably taking longer to recognise either your hard drives (which would make me worry) or your USB devices (less worrying) - especially if you've left a USB stick plugged in - I've got a few dodgy USB sticks that seem to make my BIOS take considerably longer to post.

Re: Slow POST
Hmm, all the HD's were new on the build - not impossible though I guess.
No USB sticks plugged in. There was a joystick though... Will try unplugging that later and see if there's a difference.

Re: Slow POST
I've once had to trouble shoot a friend's computer that just wouldn't get through post and it ended up being a new USB wireless stick she'd got that the BIOS couldn't enumerate properly for some reason - fixed it by switching it with a different USB wifi stick! If you've started leaving a joystick plugged in it could easily be that it's being enumerated during post and slowing the process down.

Re: Slow POST
Tried unplugging the stick and it made no odds. Will try a complete USB unplug to see if that makes any odds.

Re: Slow POST
Try going to bios and turn off the mobo splash screen so you can actually see which bit it hangs on
