    Onboard GFX?

For my new build I have bought:

    Intel Pentium i7 Quad-Core i7-6700 3.4GHz
MSI Intel Z170-A PRO 2-Way CrossFire ATX Motherboard

I was under the impression that with these two components I won't need a separate video/GFX card, but the mobo manual appears to suggest that one of the components I need to have a working build is a separate video/GFX card. Can anyone help clarify?

No you don't need a separate GPU.

The graphics is part of the cpu these days and is no longer on the motherboard. Don't expect any great gaming performance from it though.

Yeah I can see how that can be confusing too! You could literally pair it with any 1151 socket motherboard and be able to use the onboard graphics, so you could go for a cheaper one. And as others have said, it's all in the CPU now.
