Newly built PC doesn't post or output video
Just built a computer. The power supply fans, cpu fans and case fan spin when we turn the PC on, but the motherboard speaker doesn't beep, the video card fan doesn't spin and no video is outputted from either the mobo or the video card.
Does anyone know how we can fix this?
Re: Newly built PC doesn't post or output video
What motherboard are you using? Does it have any lights that flash for error codes?
Also how many sticks of ram and what slots are they in, if you have one try it in slot 2 if two try in 2 & 4.
I had the same issue when I built mine a couple months ago, kept switching ram sticks (trying both of mine in all of the slots) until it finally booted then updated motherboard bios and it worked fine.
Found quite a few threads with the same problem (and solution) for my motherboard and others in the range.
Mine was a MSI Z170-A PRO.

RAM sticks All the way in ?

If the video card has PCIe power connectors - are they plugged in?

Or, combining the two, is the Video card properly seated in the PCIe slot. I once reseated a GPU about 5 times before I managed to get it to click into the slot properly ;)

Could you be more specific on the make and model of the motherboard and what ram your using and CPU details plz :)
Re: Newly built PC doesn't post or output video
Make sure the video card is seated correctly and all power cables are connected. If no luck then you could try booting without the video card. If you can post without the video card there is a issue with it.
