New ryzen mobo help

I've been going over this for some time and have brought this list down to the Asrock taichi x370 or the asus crosshair VI hero x370. They are two awesome boards but I can't seem to commit to either. The asrock has two m.2s with awesome placement of stuff but I'm not too sure about the asrock brand tbh and the paint design of the cog looks terrible. Also some people online have complained about doa boards. The asus one looks beastly and has more or less everything I need but it has a silly feature which is a pci on top for a wifi card that they don't include and you need to drill through io shield for the wifi antenna.

I would also go onto OcUK - IIRC,the CH6 has burnt some people's CPUs and the ASRock had some issues with RAM. This is just from memory,but like I said it might be worth asking in this thread:

I was hoping you would chime in. Burning peoples cpus is insane! I will look at that thread thanks.

I don't know if these were widespread,but I can remember some comments about the issues,but things might be fine now,so hence that owners thread will probably be a more up to date resource than my memory!!

HardOCP gave the Asus Crosshair VI Hero a bit of a scathing review if you're planning to overclock, which is unusual for Asus:

Having said that, BIOS updates may have addressed the problems they encountered.

That is what I'm hoping that updates and general responses to feedback have addressed issues. It is annoying that reviewers never revisit stuff several months later.

Interestingly I have the Asus and never had a moments problem with it on either my 1700x or now the 2700x
