There are never any guarantees, just a very good chance it will work.

There could be something in the contracts between AMD and motherboard manufacturers that they will release BIOS updates for future processor compatibility (unless TDP increases for some of them). If so, that's nearly a guarantee - just would be dependant of the manufacturer still being there in 2020.
