    bios flash server board

    i have a tyan s7010 and need to flash the bios as the new cpus wont post otherwise.

    i have never done this b4 so i need to get i right or ill brick the board.

    i unzipped the latest bios and there is a rom file, 2 application and 1 windows batch file.

    do i copy just the rom file to a usb stick and then boot in to it to flash the motherboard ?

    thanks

    A bit late, but;

    1) Download the Rufus tool:

    https://rufus.akeo.ie

    2) Using Rufus, flash the USB stick with Free DOS and make it bootable,

    3) Copy the unzipped BIOS folder contents to the USB stick root,

    4) Boot off the USB stick on the machine that you want to update. Free DOS should start

    5) Once Free DOS has booted, type in the whatever.bat is included in the zip folder and hit enter

    6) Sit back, let the batch do its thing.

    7) Hopefully, it will eventually tell you that the update is complete and was successful

    8) Shut the machine down, pull the USB stick out, turn the machine back on, change any BIOS settings that need changing if they've reset from the update.

    9) Done
