Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 - still issues with it not waking from sleep mode?

    Hi all,

Looking to spec a new PC based around a Ryzen 9 3900X chip and an X570 motherboard. My current top choice is the Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 but I had read elsewhere some people were having some issue with this board with it not waking up from sleep cold boot etc. Not sure if that is something more in the early days and has now been fixed with more recent Bios updates?

Would appreciate any longer term Aorus Master owners experience of this as it's the main thing putting me off at the moment!

    Thanks,

    (\(\;;/)/)

p.s. apologies for the double post!

that was ages ago. Long since fixed IIRC.

ps I would message Helios451 as he bought one a few months ago and will be able to tell you first-hand.

Hi, yes, my Auros Master X570 with 3900X has behaved perfectly well, dual booting Windows 10 and Linux Mint, no hanging or other issues. The speed of the main PCIe slot at x16 and that of the 1st M.2 socket is particularly good, and as I've played around a bit (and still do) tweaking settings it's proved remarkably stable. When I had a few non-boot issues when playing around with the RAM voltages there was no drama; a quick BIOS reset using the button on the back plate and everything was back to stock.

I've got a build log on here if you want to take a look - I still need to get around to updating it, actually!

That's very much for the info - really helpful. I think I will be going with an Auros Master x570. Now just ALL the rest to decide on!

I'll take a look at the build log as well.

If you manage to get the 1.1 revision, you should be able to use Thunderbolt too.

Apparently the board originally had Thunderbolt when it launched and on the review boards, but the 1.0 revision removed the header. The 1.1 revision is said to reinstate it.

have they actually confirmed they will release it? Last I read was the orig 1.x config with thunderbolt was a prerelease only and they permanently ditched it for 1.0 onwards with no plans to reintroduce it.

    "Thunderboltâ„¢ Add-in Card Connector"
    https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard...STER-rev-11-12

'Connector' surely means header. Although it obviously still requires the purchase of the add-in card to actually make use of it.

I found out all of this recently from this thread on the Level1Techs Forum that came up in a search.

According to that, it is technically possible to short a couple of the pins on the 1.0 revision to get the add-in card working (although supposedly not with the ability for hotplugging Thunderbolt devices).

Although I most likely have a 1.0 revision based on when I bought it, I've never bothered looking at or testing mine as I have no Thunderbolt devices (and no current plans for getting any Thunderbolt devices) or the add-in card anyway. I just thought it was interesting information to know for the future, although it still made me feel a little annoyed that they took the header away only to reinstate it on versions after the one I'd bought when it should have just stayed the whole time instead.

Yeah, I'd say. Gigabyte have added a separate page for the rev1.1 and rev1.2 boards on their website to differentiate from v1.0 so it does look like they've now made this a standard feature. How bizarre they didn't do so originally.

Going to pick up an X570 Master from a priv seller tomorrow. Don't need all its features but I've got him down to £140 so why not lol.
