    Asus b550f

    Hi there,
I have the Asus B550F board with Corsair CMW16GX4M2C3600C18 Ver4.31 (4 x 8 GB) DDR4 3600 MHz. If I use 4 sticks of RAM the system will become unstable and often fail to post. I have tested with both auto and DOCP settings to no avail. I have attempted to troubleshoot the issues with ASUS support and their response was because they only tested 2 sticks of RAM of this model on the motherboard they cannot guarantee that the board will be able to remain stable when 4 sticks of this RAM is used. I was wondering if there is anyone on here who has in fact been able to get the board to run with 4 sticks of this RAM and could also confirm the timings voltages that they are using? The board is running the latest official BIOS.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Re: Asus b550f

I may be completely wrong as I'm no expert here, but my understanding is that it's a complete lottery with the memory controller on the CPU itself. It's probably becoming unstable running 4 sticks at 3600. You should try reducing it to 3200, or just switch out all 4 sticks for 2x 16Gb modules. I suspect that would resolve the issue, but hopefully others can either confirm I'm on the right line of thinking, or point you in the right direct if I'm wrong!

    Re: Asus b550f

The official supported maximum RAM speed is 3200MHZ accross two DIMMs AFAIK. I think it drops down to 2933MHZ for 4 DIMMs. So I would try at 3200MHZ firstly.

Also another factor is the type of RAM chips used - I would use Thaiphoon Burner to check what memory IC types the RAM contains.
