Wyclef 'Perfect Gentleman' - what's the strings play?

Hey folks,

I've got this tune rattling round my head, and it's bugging me. You know Wyclef Jean's track 'Perfect Gentleman', yeah? What's the tune that the strings/synth play, that loops pretty much throughout the track? I've also got the pattern of Pachelbel's Canon in D in my mind. Are they the same pattern?

I listened to it and can 99% confirm that the bass string riff at the beginning is (very loosely) based on Pachys Canon as you suspected :)
