Who's watching what at the mo?
Just trauled thro Serial Expeiments Lain, very deep & slightly matrix/ghost in the shell esque in theory, but definately thought provoking.
Also watched Kurau: Phantom Memory Vol.1, slow starter, looks great & but one i'm going to follow for sure.

    Re: Anime

I watched one the other week - can't recall it's name but it was a serious headgame.

It was about a singer who had turned into a movie star and basically had a mental breakdown. The whole thing was viewed through her eyes and I couldn't decypher what was real and what wasn't.

Definately not one to watch after a few beers.

Other than that - I catch the odd Naruto at my mate's house when I pop round but recently I've not had time to watch much at all.

    Re: Anime

I've gotten the wife hooked on Naruto, recently. We're powering through the second season now. Luckily, we don't have the dubbed version - annoyingly loud children aren't so bad if you don't understand what they're saying

We've also watched the first episode of Claymore, which looks a little bit "goff" but certainly enjoyable. I think we'll wait until we've seen all of Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden until we start watching that.

I've been watching the Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) series whenever I get the chance, too. It used to be on 4Later on Fridays, years ago - after it was cancelled I happened across a VHS of the dubbed cartoon film in a little shop in Scarborough. I immediately snapped it up, and it ended up being one of my favourite films of all time. The series is better, of course though.. seeing as the film was just loosely based upon it. The intro music to HNK has to be one of the best ever intro songs in the history of intro song singing.

    Re: Anime

Keeping up to date with the Naruto Shippuden anime, but the manga, (comic) is really getting interesting at the moment. Also watching prince of tennis, an anime about... yep tennis. Very popular in Japan, would very much recommend it.

Theo you're right about hokuto no ken, excellent anime, just be aware that there are loooads of episodes for it. Have you seen the latest hnk movie, I've got it but still not got round to watching it.

Oh and definitely check out Hajime no Ippo, anime about a amatuer boxer trying to make it big.

    Re: Anime

I started to watch a few more naruto last night so I have ample knowledge for when the game finally arrives.

I found the name of that crazy film that played with my head and it was called perfect blue

Also watched the kalimari wrestler the other weekend and that was a giggle.

That'll be Perfect Blue. It's pretty excellent, but is certainly a headfxxk. Paprika is another film by the same dierctor. Just as bizarre, but not as sinister. Worth a peek.

Agree with skinleech, perfect blue is quite good :-)
Paprika a bit less from my point of view.

    Cheers

    Re: Anime

I like Naruto - except for the 100 or so fillers after about Eps. 125. Shippuudens pretty good.
    Bleach is also excellent.
