    Songs working after transfered

When I got my new pc I wanted to transfer my songs, so I used a external HD, and copy'd it along with my other files. but for some reason my songs dont work anymore. Some don't work at all, some work for a few seconds.

I tried playing from the external HDD, same result, although the still have the their inital filesize.

Is there any program that can fix the songs?

    Re: Songs working after transfered

Where are the song from? What format are they?

If they are purchased from online music stores they will have DRM that locks them to your original PC. I don't know what you'll have to do to get them working again, i avoid DRM crippled music like the plague.

    Re: Songs working after transfered

Could it be a Cyclic Redundancy type error, when a file transfer goes 'out of sync' almost.

You still got originals on old PC?

    Re: Songs working after transfered

i simply used NERO to encode, and it worked perfectly on iPod, PSP...

    Downloading audacity now...

    Re: Songs working after transfered

Then your files are corrupt. Since it's an external drive, I suspect a caching issue which wasn't properly flushed before removing it.
