    30 Days of Night

Went to watch this film tonight and must say i was pretty impressed with it.

I thought it was going to be something like From Dusk till Dawn or another film like that, didnt really enjoy either of the films.

The films contains lots of blood and decapitation and body parts flying around and for the gun and explosion nuts out there....some of that is thrown in to just too.

I did have a huge review planned but am too lazy to write it, one thing I will say though is that I feel they have left the ending open for possibly more.

    Anyone else seen it?

I do want to see it, I strangly have quite a liking for horror films not to sure why. Is there a good storyline to it like for example the saw films?

Really wanna see this one, read the comic books a while back and for once this actually looks like quite a promising crossover, I hope they leave it quite open at the end because some of the comics that follow on after the main story arc are brilliant.

I thought it'd be something like Pitch Black, but more horror than sci-fi, am I right? I'm meant to be seeing it next week sometime. I just hope it's nice and gory. I'm sick of seeing so-called gory films only to find they're vastly disappointing!

    Re: 30 Days of Night

If you are after gore, this is probably not it. Sure you get decapitation amongst other bloody stuff, but it's noting you wouldn't have seen elsewhere. The movie is rated 15 at the end of the day.

That aside, for some reason this movie didn't do it for me. Maybe it's because I've never read the comics (but that didn't stop me from enjoying 300), but I am also troubled by the lack of character background. That'd be fine if the movie was a 'flashy' action movie, but it's not. It doesn't have the weirdness you might see in some horror films either or something particularly witty twists. I can't really think of an aspect this movie excels in. There is only really two scenes I remember being entertained by: one involving a young vampire, and the second diversion (vague description as to not spoil them).

All the above, is of course just my opinion.

I've heard that it's not that good but wouldn't mind seeing it myself to find out.

its a decent movie. would not call it a horror movie at all unless u think that the whole blade series is a horror movie

I thought it started really well and then completely lost its way. The vampires became annoying after a while, particularly their screaming noises.
