    Anyone seen Cloverfield?

    Hi All

Firstly I'm sorry I've not been around for a bit, day job getting in the way!!

I hope to come to come to an MK meet sometime soon.

Anyway, I need your view on something folks.

I've managed to persuade a fit looking female colleague who is a film fan to come with me to the cinema on Wednesday to see Cloverfield

My question is, is it any good or should I suggest something else (she has a cineworld unlimited pass and I havent bought my ticket yet so there's still time to change)

if CF is a dud, what should we see (she has seen Sweeney Todd and she wanted to see I am legend but thats only shown in glasgow along with the the latest AVP)

Any ideas gratefully receved over the next 24 hours.

    cheers

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

The HEXUS review of Cloverfield can be read at this link mate: HEXUS.lifestyle - Review :: Cloverfield : Page - 1/4

Sweeney Todd was very good, but as you say, she has already seen it.

I Am Legend is ok, but not great in my opinion.

Aliens vs Predator: Requiem is really poor.

Out of your options, I'd go for Cloverfield. It's a bit hit or miss as some people tend to love and some people tend not to. Only one way to find out though.

lol - such the wrong way around.
Cloverfield was AMZING and I Am Legend was, well, not trash but poor.

Cloverfield was just pure spectacle. You really did feel that you were there when a monster trashes New York. The overly shakey bits were a bit vommy. But it was an awesome film.

I Am Legend was great until the CGI vampire people arrived and the whole movie slipped into B movie shocker. I mean the suspense when he's int he bath with Sam and you can hear the scerams outside. Shudder. Then you see the baddies and they are really poor quality CGI effects that remove all sense of fear. They didn't need CG with 28 Weeks later did they? That was a MUCH scarier film. No, I Am Legend was two films. Scary & tense then bland and unscarey.

    Give me Cloverfieeld anyday.

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

Yeah I saw Cloverfield a few months ago. It was an odd, yet decent movie. Don't take my word for it, because I've gave thumbs up to mediocre movies in the past. By the way you guys should check out Aladygma.com and watch the trailer of the movie on a video site. It gave my nephew the hibbyjibbies(however you spell that).

I thought Cloverfield was bobbins but if she's the jumpy type you may get some cowering hug-cuddles out of it!

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

I attempted to watch Cloverfields over the weekend.

The rapid swaying camera throughout (meant to give authenticity) was giving me a headache so I turned it off.

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

I saw it last a couple of nights ago, I really enjoyed the first person camera perspective - but I got a bit of the ole' motion sickness from it.

Definately Cloverfield over I am Legend, but I think I am Legend was alright...wasn't anything to sing home about, but definately not cringeworthy. Mr Smith did really well in it, I have to say.

Cloverfield is a big screen movie. I am Legend was sooo disappointing.

Didn't like the perspective of Cloverfield. It spoilt the film for me!

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

Cloverfield was different but it seemed kind of tacky with low budget camera but the concept was good hope they can improve it in sequel

    Re: Anyone seen Cloverfield?

Only got around to watching Cloverfield this week, I have a few friends who are avid cinema-goers and they didn't rave about the film, which is normally a good sign that I will find it "meh"......Which I did.

The one thing I did like was the BluRay soundtrack - just make sure you have a good sub-woofer and understanding neighbours - my chest felt like it was going to implode through about half of the film
