You may say now that the Kooks are amazing, but listen to a new song one day and you may think 'Hey, that was brilliant! Much better than the other one I liked'. That'll happen over and over, until the first one seems rather lame. Or maybe it'll go in circles, who knows.
My favourite songs and bands seem to change on a weekly basis, depending on mood and if I've heard anything new recently. And it'll be reflected in the media layer, one song will have a play rate of about 1000% higher that week than any other song (I listened to the DOA by Foo Fighters at least 200 times in a row when i first got it...)
