    Talking Favorite Song Lyric

just a quick random thread - as it says in the title, what's your favorite song lyric, could be for any reason - name the song and band then post it up
(go on, you can have 2 if you cant decide )

30 Seconds To Mars - Attack
"Your Promises, they look like lies, your honesty: like a back that hides a knife"

first one that sprang to mind, i just think its an awesome use of comparison from a very cool song

Aquabats - The cat with 2 heads

I kept it in a box
I watched it grow a lot
It chewed right through the lock

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now

"There's a club if you'd like to go,
you could meet somebody who really loves you.
So you go and you stand on your own,
and you leave on your own,
and you go home and you cry and you want to die."

    edit:

or possibly Nirvana - Territorial Pissings

"Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you."

    Here's a few...

'You think you're so clever, and classless, and free,
But you're still f*cking peasants, as far as I can see'

(John Lennon - Working Class Hero)

'I'm as hard as I can get,
    You lie there, dripping wet...'

    (Roy Harper - 20th-century man)

'There's no way out of here,
Once you come in, you're in for good...'

(Dave Gilmour - No Way Out)

    Re: Favorite Song Lyric

too many... but any elvis costello is always a good thing...

He's got all the things you need and some that you will never
But you make him sound like frozen food, his love will last forever
Still he knows what you want and what you don't allow
And I hope that you're happy now
    (..i hope you’re happy now)

    I asked for water
And they gave me rosé wine
    A horse that knows arithmetic
And a dog that tells your fortune
    I want to buy you
    A big blue diamel
    Cheap white plastic shoes
That don’t walk out and don’t let in..

    (…uncomplicated)

    and there's always...

    Life is hard
    And so am i
You’d better give me something so I don’t die
Novocaine for the soul, before I sputter out

Hmm... not a "favourite", but certainly an interesting one...

"I intentionally ran over your dog" by AxCx (look them up on Wikipedia for their very NSFW real name and more of their 'delightful' song titles)

YOUR DOG WAS YOUR ONLY FRIEND
YOU SPENT YOUR LIFE SAVINGS FIXING IT'S BROKEN LEG
YOU LOVED IT MORE THAN YOUR PARENTS LOVED YOU
AND THEN I RAN IT OVER

YOUR DOG WAS DUMB, AND NOW IT'S DEAD
MY TIRE-TRACKS ARE TATTOOED ON IT'S HEAD
MY TIRE-TRACKS ARE TATTOOED ON IT'S HEAD

I DRAGGED IT 50 YARDS DOWN THE STREET
AND YOU RAN AFTER ME IN TEARS
I ALMOST CRASHED BECAUSE I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD
THEN I TURNED AROUND, AND TRIED TO HIT YOU

YOUR DOG WAS DUMB, AND NOW IT'S DEAD
MY TIRE-TRACKS ARE TATTOOED ON IT'S HEAD
MY TIRE-TRACKS ARE TATTOOED ON IT'S HEAD

I think my favourite of their oeuvre is "Hitler was a sensitive man", perhaps followed by "You're Gay".

    Their songs are mercifully short...

    Re: Favorite Song Lyric

Various bits from "Memory Lane" by Jim O'Rourke:

It’s quite a gamble to speak out of place
Those things could kill you but so could your face

These things I say, may seem kinda cruel
So here’s something from my heart to you
Looking at you, reminds me of looking at the sun
And how the blind are so damn lucky

Those holes on your face could be used better ways
Breathing’s a distraction when you chatter away

These things I say, may seem to offend
But not half as much, as I’d like to intend
Listening to you, reminds me of
    A motor’s endless drone
And how the deaf are so damn lucky

I’d be happy, if life came to a stall
Then I wouldn’t need my senses at all

These things I say, might seem out of line
But day to day, I’m right every time
Looking at you, reminds me of
    Looking at the sun
    Too long

    Favourite song lyrics? Easy ...

Star Trekking, across the universe. On the Starship Enterprise, under Captain Kirk. Star Trekking, across the universe. Boldly going forward, 'cause we can't find reverse. Lt. Uhura, report. There's Klingons on the starboard bow. Starboard bow, starboard bow. There's Klingons on the starboard bow. Starboard bow, Jim.

    And so on
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Stephen Lynch - Down to the old pub instead

And she'll want you to sample the fruit of her loins
But son, it'll taste like some old rusty coins

I haven't laughed so much from a song.

This one is also rather true:

She'll retain her water, her breasts will be tender
And every third word that you say will offend her
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
