New Music to Listen to at Work
So...while I am at work, I like to listen to music.
But recently I have gotten bored with the stuff I have been listening to, partly because the people at work who tend to pick up my headphones and peek a listen are no longer perturbed by the odd nature of music I listen to.
To give an example, playlist will consist of say Limp Bizkit, Placebo, Orbital, 8 Ball & MJG and random Japanese punk/rock thing (whatever you would class Maximum the Hormone).
So to add some more 'flavour', I was thinking Death or Speed Metal...only I have no idea on artists to look for etc.
Of course any other suggestions are very much appreciated :)
I did have Spineshank, Linkin Park and Slipknot on play but it's too common to give the "WTF?!" look on people's faces.
Re: New Music to Listen to at Work
Try some of these bands for size - At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Anterior, Cannibal Corpse, Mnemic, Divine Heresy, Pig Destroyer, Meshuggah maybe even some Ministry.
Re: New Music to Listen to at Work
Checked out Anterior, Mnemic, Devine Heresy, Pig Destroyer, Meshuggah and Ministry.
All fantastic stuff!!!
Really liking Anterior and Mnemic. I love the band name of Pig Destroyer...though the music is abit harder to get into (well from the first song I heard by them).
Where's the easiest/cheapest place to get the CDs? I used to just goto HMV and get stuff but prices can be out of line with reality on odd CDs (I remember seeing Prodigy - The Experience being sold for neigh on £17 when Fat of the Land was being sold at £12).
Also any albums that are a must have? Reading youtube comments on Mnemic, their older stuff is what to get.
Re: New Music to Listen to at Work
Anterior only have one album out at the moment (this age of silence) and I'd highly recommend grabbing it, If you like Anterior I'd look into Mendeed's first album (this war will last forever) aswell as it might be your cup of tea. As far as Mnemic are concerned I prefer the second and third albums (the audio injected soul and passenger) over the first album but in my opinion all three are worth owning.
As for where to grab the cd's cheaply, sometimes hmv or zavvi will run an offer with one of the record labels concerned (nuclear blast/metal blade) and knock most the record labels catalogue down to £6.99, I picked up an awful lot of inflames last time zavvi did a similar offer, beyond that for me its just a case of shopping around ebay, play.com and the band/record labels official site to find a reasonable price.

Mad Capsule Markets. Although more like Japanese metal/rock...
Re: New Music to Listen to at Work
Try "Mew", there album was called FRENGERS, and while it's more not heavy, like your list, they are immensely talented.

and for the maddest experience, try Yello Flag, a very old album.

I like In the end. You will feel life with Linkin Park.
