I rather enjoyed it.
And the mention of Marcus was good - particularly as he still gets briefly involved in the action after his death![]()

I saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, the fridge was daft, but so's every Indy movie. Supporting cast was extremely good (and I especially enjoyed Cate Blanchett's rather mental hammed up baddie). All in all, I thought it did what it said on the tin, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Her accent was terrible though, it kept sounding english. Whenever she says no or Jones *shudder* and the way she holds the guns was a bit..limp
I think I actually enjoyed it more the second time. Further to liking the characters I liked the action sequences (pre-jungle)Maybe it will grow on me.
I think foreign baddies with wonky accents are quite fun, though - overtones of Saturday Morning Matinées with low budget kids adventures (and it's odd that she ended up sounding English when she's an Aussie pretending to be a Russkie - spent too long playing QE I perhaps...).
I watched it last week. If anything, I do not want to trash it because it is Indiana Jones. I missed Rocky Balboa when it was released, but I enjoyed Rambo.
It is very true that I yawned a couple of time during the movie, and I don't think it was because I haven't recovered from the exams yet. There was something preventing me to get 'into' the adventure. For what it's worth, I still walked home humming to the tune (didn't feel utterly robbed of my money/time).
Had the movie not been an 'Indiana Jones' though, I would have classified it as decisively average at best. It's not the worst movie ever even amongst big movies. But while I'd pick a number between 8 and 10 for the older instalments, I think that I can only give this movie a 6.5 when I am in a good mood.
I was very dissappointed with this movie. I agree with the other posts boring in places. I nearly walked out in several places.
Poor Indy. How to crush a great series. Boring..incomprehensible...and why choose aliens. I though the original Atlantis idea would have made a much better movie.
I'd recommend people watch Socktube Presents: Indy IV. I wish I'd watched it instead to be honest, after seeing the actual film.
Harrison Ford, I felt was fine, and Shia was fairly likeable, but the rest of the cast was atrocious - although most of the blame must be put with the writing. Marion Ravenswood character was so far removed from her appearance in Raiders, it was laughable. She'd turned from a fairly ballsy, feisty character (who to be honest I disliked in the first movie) to a total and utter sap.
I took a half day from work to go and watch it with my best pal (we are both huge fans of the first three films) and we both agreed it would always be the bastard child of the series. I mean...ALIENS? Why?!
