some fans diddnt like it, especialy kids/teenagers. its because some people thought it was a typical superheroe movie and i know a few that diddnt like it because of teh complexity of the story and the realism

    Re: The Dark Knight

I think even with the untimely death of Mr Ledger this series of Batman films hasn't run it course.

This sequel always had the potential to be rubbish (as all sequels do, and often are) but this movie could stand alone and still be awesome, it's only made better by it being preceded by Begins

I'm sure a lot of their ideas for more films will have been affected by Ledgers death but I don't think we should count them out as a cash cow just yet.

    Re: The Dark Knight

I didnt think that the next film would have the joker anyway. Maybe a cameo but I reckoned it was more likely a different bad guy was always gonna be on the books with the joker maybe coming back in a few films time.

    Re: The Dark Knight

I know this is a bit vague and a quick summary but just saw the Dark Knight and i think it is fantastic and one of the best follow-up films ever!

Heath Ledger was a fantastic Joker and it was good to see him played as he should be for the first time ever! Proper mental!!

    Re: The Dark Knight

As far as I'm aware Christopher Nolan wanted to make 3 bat films and then walk away from it. I've read at least 1 interview where Christian Bale said he'd make all 3 as long as it was Nolan doing them. The plan could be 3 origin films then a chronological gap maybe? I.e. older batman etc with a different cast and director. Just an idea.

Get Frank Miller in, team him up with Zack Snyder again and I'll happily watch a film based on The Dark Knight Returns, if they're gonna portray an older Batman and still get me into the cinema that's the only way they'll do it.

    Re: The Dark Knight

I always considered Empire Strikes Back as the ultimate sequel film, we always knew there would be one after the ending of Begins, and we aren't let down...The Dark Knight does pretty well to come a close second. As much as the Bourne films were each great one after the other the new batman film is also showing the world how sequels should be done.
I only wish they used harvey dent/two face a little more but then he was in batman forever, played very well by tommy lee jones - I saw a little of him in the joker this time round, only actually more sinister and believable in that he would kill... yes, two-face was waiting to be used but saddly not enough in my view.

oh and why trash a perfectly good car. actually, cars!

    Re: The Dark Knight

Watch it last night. Very good, some of the scenes with The Joker are amazing.

In some scenes it's left to the imagination what has happened, but I got the feeling it should have been a 15cert. The film does work on the power of suggest, build up a scene - change the camera angle, play the sound effects. So I guess you're left feeling like something terrible has happened, when you didn't actually see it.

    Re: The Dark Knight

i went last night finally to watch it with my gf. was really good, entertaining. cinema was packed...was a lenghty film, but i think everyone was engaged throughout.

i've found nolan's reboot of batman alot better, and this even way better then batman begins...H.L's performance was good...its a shame, i could of seen the joker being explained more in another (if they've planed to make more).

defo worth picking up once it makes it's way to dvd or blu-ray for ur collection!!
