Queen+Paul Rogers
Anyone else bought the new Q+PR album?
Different than a "Queen album". Very bluesy in places. And I like it.
I'm now really looking forward to seeing them live in Nottingham in a fortnight. Seems that they're blasting out a real mixed bag of their old stuff as well as some new.
Arise, Sir Brian of May

Re: Queen+Paul Rogers
Well after seeing some footage (Queen web site, youtube etc.) of some of the show on the tour so far, I'm now getting excited.
My favourite clip, was from Riga, Latvia, when Latvian Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis played the drums for one of the encores!!! Bizarre.

Re: Queen+Paul Rogers
So how was Glasgow, Buff?
Nottingham was a absolutely fantastic experience, helped by the fact that I got right at the front on the barrier of the stage extension. Brian was 2 yards away playing the Red Special! A real OMG! moment. I still haven't stopped smiling.

Re: Queen+Paul Rogers
Glasgow gig was great & I enjoyed the Free/Bad Company songs as well as the Queen ones.
The crowd was in fine voice & I would like to think (sentimental sap that I am) that it was genuine emotion on Brian's face as we all sang a song for Freddie ... .
Could have done without the drum & guitar solos though in favour of a couple more songs.

Re: Queen+Paul Rogers
Oh I think it's genuine enough, apparently he was in tears at the O2 last night. Plenty of people were at Nottingham too. A nice moment that, and definitely my favourite of Queen's "ballads" if you like.
The solos are surely to break up the set and give everyone a break at some point? 2 and a half hours is a long set by anyone's standards and these guys are mostly circa 60 years old! I was right next to the 2nd drum set, right on the barrier and to see Roger whacking those drums was amazing, such effort goes in there. The guitar solos though, well I would happily listen to an entire gig of Brian on the Red Spesh! Absolute bliss.
