Question Which DVD rental service (if any)?

Me and my wife have been thinking about joining one of the DVD rental services (such as LoveFilm).
I've done some reading and there are a lot of conflicting opinions as to the quality and reliability of the services on offer.
There has been a lot of consolidation in the market in recent times with LoveFilm becoming the biggest by buying up competitors (or other businesses getting out of the market, like Amazon for example).

I know a number of people who use LoveFilm and think they're great. But I've also read comments from A LOT of unhappy people, many of whom used to be Amazon customers and WERE very happy until they were changed to LoveFilm. Complaints include poor customer service (no response to emails or complaints), scratched and unplayable DVDs, very slow delivery, DVDs sent in the wrong order....

However, many of the other services come in for similar comments.

In terms of level of service, we're looking for 3 to 4 DVDs a month, its fine to have 1 at a time - they all seem to offer this.

So, my fellow Hexusites (Hexites?), I'd love to know your opinions and experiences of the various services around.

    Thanks!

    Muts.

Re: Which DVD rental service (if any)?

Hi, I used LoveFilm for a year or so when i was at Uni, it was a great service, you choose which dvd's you want to watch, they arrive in the post next day (either 1, 3, 5 at a time as i recall?) you watch when you feel like it and return when done with the freepost envolope. Very easy and never had a problem.

In fact the only reason i unsubscribed was because i ran out of decent films i wanted to watch and got fed up of all the rubbish new releases.

Re: Which DVD rental service (if any)?

Yep Lovefilm works well we found.

Normally just get the 3months for the price of 1, and just cancel at end of period and then renew again -lol

Dont think its worth the monthly fee, but with that deal its worth a trial.

I used love film for a few month and they were great only stopped renting because we were both working so much we never got around to watching any of the films...plus you can try it out for free.

Lovefilm is way better than Blockbuster. Also remember if you buy anything over £10 from their store you get a free extra online rental.
