Currently watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's surprisingly watchable, especially as it is a re-make. Enjoying it so far.

Bump.
Forgot to add that I watched Spice and Wolf season 2. As much as I LOVE Spice and Wolf, I couldn't feel not let down by this series. The twelve episodes literally cover two story arcs and in all honesty didn't progress as much as I'd like it to. Horo felt alot more vulnerable than in the first series and it kinda detracts from what I initially liked about her; a cheeky, independent wolf god whom has grown quite fond and attached to a travelling merchant, Lawrence.
In the first season alot was left unsaid and it was compelling viewing but season 2 has it laid out so even when things were left unsaid it was just far too obvious and when things were said, it was a massive face palm moment. It was like as though the writers thought it would be best just to get rid of the boundary between Lawrence and Horo but it was that boundary that made the first season so good. As the two of them travelled, traded and met various people you were never too sure how much of it was an act, how much of it was jovial banter/flirting or how much of it did they truely meant.
Anyhow if you liked Season 1 then you will enjoy season 2. My own personal thoughts are that season two just didn't quite live up to my expectations.

That and all the talk about getting to Yoitsu and just ending up not actually making headway there.

Claymore. Actiony with creatures that like to eat human guts.
Code Geass. Very good action and plot. Not alot of blood/guts but the plot will pull you in.
Shigurui. Action. Blood. Guts. Violence. Samurais. Quite a brutal anime though the story is not even really told... :/
Full Metal Alchemist (and it's re-make Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood). Quite abit of action, some blood...I like it
Eureka 7. Action with sky surfing mechs. Doubtful on the blood and guts front but it is so awesome to watch. Just be prepared for some annoying scenes with Ren (I think his name is).
Gundam 00. Action, yes. Blood and guts? Not alot. Good, hells yeah!
Seirei no Moribito. Action, yes. blood/guts? Not really. Really good series though.
Sword of the Stranger. Movie. Good film.
That should keep you amused for awhile.
You want Blood'n'Guts action hunt out a copy of Fist of the North Star
It's older than most of the ones Sleephead lists, so some of the artwork can look dated.
There was both a series and a movie length version.
When I say Blood'n'Guts I mean it, people die in very messy ways.

Hokuto no Ken (part 1) is 109 eps long, whilst Hokuto no Ken 2 is 43 odd eps. According to AniDB, there is a huge number of associated OVAs, side stories etc. Sadly, I am not one for the older artwork style of Anime, and these days the most I can handle are 12-24 ep series apart from the really long ones I've been following for a couple years now.
Sounds good though
I've watched a few episodes of Fist of the North Star and I have to admit, even though it is bloody, it is so tragically comedic I found I was laughing at how bad it was.
Not strictly an anime (as it's live action) but I've been watching Akihabara@Deep, Sexy Voice and Robo and recently finished Densha Otoko. All of which are quite good and alot of references to animes, particularly Gundam. If you fancy watching something slightly different to anime, I can recommend the three titles.
Really enjoyed catching up with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - such a shame I've caught up already... Finished watching Nyan Koi and it is pretty much the generic anime I expected but there is a season 2 apparently...
Asura Cryin' (season 2...or extension of season 1...whatever you want to call it) has confused me a little bit...but it's still not too bad....the biggest shame is the main male character has that annoying personality of "I'm weak but I am gonna get strong to protect"...he's in no way weak, he has Kurogane and hopefully he gets to keep his demonic powers too.
No-one watch the Christmas episode of Kampfer...it is TERRIBLE!!! Seriously, avoid like the plague.

Dance in the Vampire Bund - ep1.
Interesting opening episode - very confused as it starts as a quiz show/celebrity talk show, the topic being are vampires real. Not left an impression on me at all and for an opening episode, that is bad. I hope episode two is much better and that they feed you some more info - what little info ep 1 did divulge was mostly generic bumf.
It was just too random how the ruler of the vampires turns up on a TV show and claims a piece of land for their species..I'll have to look up the manga and see how it actually was portrayed.
Other than that 9and abit of Tokyo Mangnitude 8.0) I have not watched anime at all; been watching Densha Otoko and after that Keitai Sousakan 7.
A quite note on Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: I really found the two kids soo annoying, it has really put me of the show. The concept is good, the story is good but the kids just annoy me too much.
