    Re: Watchmen

Released on the 6th I think.
Have to try to see it one afternoon next week.
I've got a feeling I'll really really like it, or really really hate it.
    Fingers crossed

Gets a strange old bunch of reviews. Some really do seem to rave about it though..

I'm expecting it to be good, very good even.. like the Dark Knight which exceeded expectation

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it even more. Hopefully it isn't crap, I think a lot of the critics are disappointed because it's been so overhyped.

    Re: Watchmen

Hopefully one day Marvel will revisit X-Men in a darker more broody way, as has been done in many of the comics and graphic novels. In the meantime though I have high hopes for this being a little belter.

    Re: Watchmen

A friend's gone and booked an extra ticket for me to see this tonight. Can't say if I'm all that interested in it to be honest - I know practically nothing about the story or the characters. All new to me since I don't follow graphic novels or comics. I'm quite partial to the more recent dark and broody Batman movies, so as long as it's along those lines, hopefully it'll be a pleasant surprise rather than a waste of time! I just hope it's not another Fantastic Four sort of thing.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good

This will be nothing like the fantastic four. I haven't read any of the novels, but I reckon it is a bit more into dark characters than OTT special effects and cheese.

    Re: Watchmen

Group of (mostly) none-super super-heroes, with real life issues, in a world that thinks it doesn't need them.

Very dark ... and certainly not as cheesy a story as F4.

    Re: Watchmen

Don't worry about not knowing the story or anything - this isn't related to any established Marvel or DC universe. It's a completely self-contained story, and a LOT more intelligent than most comic-book adaptations

    Re: Watchmen

    Well.. I watched it.

I think I need to see it again tbh but saying that I wasn't stunned.

Roschach is awesome in it, no question. A lot of carbon copied scenes from the book, which is quite nice.

Music is a bit.. odd.. in places. Perhaps its just unexpected.. One such place was as Dan and Roschach are flying towards veidts place.. you get Jimi Hendrix's version of All along the watch tower.. oh and the sex scene.. bit awkward to watch.

If you've ever watched little nikky, the music felt a bit like that. I like the songs.. but I don't understand why they are there lol

    Re: Watchmen

I was vaguely tempted by a copy going on eBay signed by the writer, illustrator and colourist.. a snip at £220!

Great novel though, really want to see the film now!
