Battlestar Galactica the saga finishes!! Spoilers!
Finally it has come to an end!!
I thought the ending was interesting though and it was "sort" of happy too.
It is not made clear though if all the "bad" Cylons are dead though as not all the Basestars were present during the battle.
However I do think that Lee "frakked up" in his suggestion to ditch all the tech at end as it will not end the cycle!! :(
Here is my reasoning
1.) People need to remember the past to prevent the cycle repeating again. The Cylons on Earth 1 forgot what happened on Kobol and so did the Humans who formed the 12 colonies. By ditching the tech and not rebuilding their society the survivors will delay the cycle but not end it as nobody will remember any of the preceding history. The worst thing is that Lee and his merry bunch of men and women know this as the Final Five Cyclons told them!!:stupid:
2.) Why mate with the ancient Humans then?? If the colonial Humans are more intelligent(or evolved) then they will be transmiting these favourable characteristics to the ancient Humans. Also they want to teach them skills too. This will only hasten the ancient Humans formation of society and civilisation meaning more technology. If anything they should NOT be helping them.
3.) They let the Centurions go!! Muppets!! What if these Centurions do the same as the last lot did and try to evolve??? The cycle will repeat again. Hopefully they will keep a record of their history and perhaps will be happy with what they are.
The only way to defeat the cycle would be for the remaining tech, the Centurions and even the ancient Humans to be destroyed or wiped out. Also the colonials Humans would have to end with the current generation(s).
Re: Battlestar Galactica the saga finishes!! Spoilers!
They were wise to let the centurions go. They have free will now due to the rebel Cylons removing their inhibitor chips, which is what started the break up of the Cylon hierarchy.
You saw evidence of the Centurions disliking being bossed about in the 1st half of season 4. It stands to reason that it they were kpet on a slaves, a revolt would have occured sooner or later. Yes, they are taking the risk, but with the viewpoint that giving the Centurions a way to shape their own future without a constricting hand forcing their moves will be enough to stop them ridsing up in arms.
It was sort of happy yeah, it was a shame to see so many people end up alone: Bill with his mountain cabin & no one to share it with, Galen through choice, and Lee.
