Free stuff!

Hi all. I'm being guilt-tripped into posting by the "you have not posted in several weeks" message, but get this, I'm using it as an unscrupulous opportunity for shameless self-promotion!

I recorded an album, about 40 minutes of admittedly self-indulgent ambient/experimental/post-rock/whaddeveryerwannacallit music, under a suitably pretentious artist name and album title! :cool:It's been sitting on my hard drive for a while, so I got round to putting it out there for the world to hear.

I really enjoyed it like I said certainly my cup of tea. Some of the guitar work was a little distracting on the earlier songs, I think you're expecting it to be perfect (engineered) and when it isn't that is what sticks out of music like this.

All in all though I love it, it sounds a lot like what I like to play/write so I've grabbed my guitar this morning to add my own extra layer, it's really good for that :)

From that point of view I've been playing around with various bits and bobs and I think its likely that the stuff I'm currently working on will come out sounding hopefully better - musically and in terms of being "polished". :)

What sort of equipment do you use out of interest?

Nothing fancy - just a couple effects running straight into my laptop's line in, then Acoustica Mixcraft on the PC.

Most used bits are: Line 6 Spider II-210 amp, Korg AX10G multi-effects, Zoom PS-04 palmtop studio (4 track recorder/mixer/effects setup), plenty of free VSTs, Acoustica Beatcraft for drums.

One of the songs came on in the car this morning, really does sound the business. Couple of tweeks here and there and it would be perfect :)
