13 Tzameti, is, imo a masterpice of cinematography. Forget that it's French, and in Black & White, it's just .... a superbly shot movie, brilliantly original, atmospheric, moody and moving. Loved it!
Casshern...well, crioes, what is this all about. So many great movie pastiches, everything from 1984 to Dr. Strangelove, to Metropolis, all done with an incredibly stylish eastern flare. My not be everyone's cup of tea, and fans of the Animé may well hate it, but it just sorta works, in a wierd disjointed fashion. Might take a couple of watches this one.
Tonight it's Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon & also Mongol (The Rise To Power Of Genghis Khan)
yay for Play's bargain basement
So who's watching & recomending what?
