Is it just me or has this film been given a 12 certificate?

I mean are you ****ing serious? Suddenly AVP springs to mind and look how bad that turned out.

Instead of following the 18 cert trend an making a good Terminator film they go the money route.

Why am i not suprised. I wont be going to see it anyway until i hear some reviews first. I was really looking forward to this though.

im more worried that its directed by the same guy who directed the brillient masterpiece "chariles angels"

Both T2 and T3 were both 15 rated and neither film was toned down much with regards to the action sequences to achieve that rating, given that there'll be no T1000's stabbing people in the face, no arnie ripping his own arm off to prove a point and no sex scene like the original (I presume at least given the rating) I can see it being reasonably close to the original movies action wise to be honest, if anything has been sacrificed to achieve the lower rating it's likely to be bad language which I can live without provided McG doesn't make a hash of everything else.

Certification's changed a lot since the first Terminator came out. I'm not at all worried by the certification, after all it's an action movie not a psychological thriller.

The only thing that disturbs me is that they apparently cut some nekkid boobies to get a lower certificate. Damn prudish censors and their 'morals'

It's a sign of the times unfortunately

18 cert would not fill the cinema seats on a Saturday.

All these films should come in 2 cuts, one with the (necessary) heavy violence and bad language for evening showings, the other cut for the kiddies for the daytime showings.

And after both Rambo and Die Hard recently broke the mould by sticking to their 15/18 certs, I was really hoping that Terminator would follow suit........I am sadly disappointed

Die Hard 4 didn't stick to it's guns at all it might have been a 15 over here but in the states it was a PG-13 like Salvation and it was cut a fair bit to get it there.

Well Batman Begins (meant dark knight), Bournes and Bonds were all 12A's weren't they?

I'm not going to judge it on that, the trailer however gives me mixed signals. I reserve judgement though, I will go and see it

The first film's sex scene wouldn't have resulted in an 18 certificate here, back then it was violence that led to a higher rating. There has always been a trend towards cutting violence here, and cutting sex in the US, but now that prudish trend is heading in our direction.

Nine Inch Nails - the day the whole world went away, the remix in the trailer hasn't been released yet but the green remix is pretty much the same except for some extra precussion.

Indeed things have changed, if T1 was released today, it certainly wouldnt be an 18. my guess is that a 15 would have surficed.
