Dear Zachary
Dear Zachary is a documentary which for me has provided a roller-coaster of emotional experiences. I went from feeling sad and upset, to frustrated and angry all within 1 hour 30 minutes. I've never been so emotionally connected to a documentary or film before. It was truly a unique and heart throbbing engagement.
Summary:
In 2001, Dr.Andrew Bagby was murdered by his ex-girlfriend Shirley Turner. After shooting Andrew she fled to Canada were she found out she was pregnant with Andrews child. Andrews parents received custody of the child (named Zachary) whilst Shirley was free on bail. As a childhood friend of Andrew and a successful film maker, Kurt Kuenne decided to travel across America creating a film about Andrew so that Zachary could know what sort of man his father was. Many more deeply upsetting things happen, but I will not spoil that for you.
I strongly recommend you give this a watch (with some tissues nearby). You will grow to hate Shirley Turner :) .
