Better still, you should all track down Infernal Affairs, the film the Departed is lifted from.
IMO a far superior film, though they are very similar - perhaps comes down to which one you saw first.
I just watched it and I didn't think all that much of it tbh. It was OK but a bit stupid by the end.
I haven't watched Infernal Affairs for years but I think I can see what you mean Skinleech.
That said I wasn't watching that closely (wasn't all that drawn in) so I might have missed the magic that was there. All the actors seemed convincing enough except perhaps.. Maaaatt Daaaamon, but it just didn't gel with me. It was certainly well made and there was some fun music in there. I'll watch it again more closely some time :)
