    Watchmen Directors Cut

Is it coming out over here. I have read a few rumors on some websites (not sure how trust worthy they are) that its not being released over here - which annoys me no end

    Permanently confused

    Re: Watchmen Directors Cut

It's not being released here (not yet anyway), best offer I've seen is playusa shipping it over but you will need a multiregion dvd player.

That said this is not the cut we have been promised, the ULTIMATE cut will be released later apparently and will incorporate black freighter and such like back in.. The directors cut is certainly the one to have for now, but it's going to be expensive to get it and frankly I don't think it will be that much better. It's adds back in niteowl (1)'s death and the reaction by niteowl (2) with a few extra bits but 26 minutes isn't enough to make it THAT much better.

    Re: Watchmen Directors Cut

It's longer from what I've read.

    http://film-book.com/watchmen-direct...rical-version/

There's some info on what's new, including the extended sex scene at the link above. Potentially spoiler heavy though, so be warned.

It would seem they extended the part where he blows his wad a tad early.. so it could it be worse. What on earth they are thinking leaving that rubbish in I don't know..

    Re: Watchmen Directors Cut

what really pissed me off about the film, was the soundtrack.

Its like with donnie darko, the directors cut edition got rid of all the brilliant atmospheric music, which would often seamlessly build and stir emotion for 10 minutes + stretches.

With the watchmen mabye they will do this backwards, realise that they had used far too much of the directors favorite tunes, and get some original composition.

I always thought the point was that he couldn't get it up, not that he shot too early.

It's a methaphor for the impotence he feels as a result of the Kane act and, of course, he gets his funk back once they start dressing up and saving people again.

You know.. I think you might be right. I've actually managed to scratch the movie from my memory but the book certainly makes your idea seem correct.

    Re: Watchmen Directors Cut

Funny you should mention this because I watched it last night and my jaw was still on the floor after watching the film, I thought it was awesome and would love the see the directors cut version. The special affect in the film is the best I have seen since the Matrix.

Oh and I watched it on BluRay as well which made it more enjoyable to watch.

Yes an awesome film, I loved the flawed characters of the main protagonists. These arn't your usual superman types!
