    The Taking of Pelham 123

We all like a remake of a film but when a film has been remade 3 times over does it weaken the plot of the film. Well in the case of this remake The Taking of Pelham 123 no. Coupled with a strong cast of actors, Washington and Travolta and directed by the master of action thrillers Tony Scott are we going to see the best remake.

From what I have seen up to know it does, beat the original film, considering the first was in 1974 and the budget was limited, no great car chases, or special affects, just plain acting. This version is a full packed heart stomping dry mouthed jaw dropping film. (I think I over done it slightly there) Travolta is at his finest, the best I have seen since Pulp Fiction. Washington is outstanding in this film, and probably one I would have picked to play the part. Does this film cut the mustard compared with the original and the remake in 1998, and the current remake in 2009 over a decade after the last remake. Yes it does, it's a well scripted film with the right actors taking the lead role.

    10/10

I loved the film, a good performance from John Travolta.

I think its the best remake yet, Travolta was just amazing... the action was awesome and just what I would expect from Tony Scott.

Never saw any of the other versions, so fresh pair of eyes, must say I actually enjoyed the movie. Good tempo, was never bored and left staring around - rather predictable once it got half way through, but was not looking for a suspense thriller so that did not matter too much.
Travolta really thrives in these roles ... sort of strange that - reminds me of Broken Arrow from ages ago.
