Armin Van Buuren: which album to start with

Come on then... where to start?

I'm having my spine ripped out and waved around by Unforgivable on LastFM and I NEED MORE....

I might need longer headphones cables too....

Re: Armin Van Buuren: which album to start with

    Oh my god...

You speketh the language.... Van Buuren is the No 1 DJ for a reason...

If like van buuren make sure you check out Above & Beyond too. http://www.trancearoundtheworld.com/

Remind me next time I'm down your way and I'll bring you a few Gb of his radio shows - check them out on www.astateoftrance.com

OMG OMG I could go on about this for hours... but i won't coz I'd lose my job.

Dash berlin Feat.Cerf, Metiska and Jaren - Man on the Run is also a good recent track - and Above and Beyond - on a good day (although slightly overplayed now) track

(AvB's album Imagine has some good tracks on it - but I find they're usually better when mixed into similar stuff - try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagine:_The_Remixes )

Tracks - in a similar vein.

However - Check out Above and Beyond (Artist) and their Anjunabeats Vol 1-6 (Albums). They 2nd on my list.

AvB - Imagine (Album), 10 Years (Album) and Shivers (Album) all have some massive tracks on them.

*may I just say that Shivers is a wicked name for a trance album... as that's what it's all about!

Re: Armin Van Buuren: which album to start with

Zakky - A lot of the trancey dance stuff isn't really released on Albums as such - you're better off trying some of the trance streams on DI.fm - A state of trance, Trance Around the world etc - they all come with playlists ususually so you can pick out your faves. (I like to do this when a tune blows me away!)

firefm (.com maybe?) is another one - more classics - that the man has sent to me recently but he's enjoying listening to. He's more into his progressive though rather than Vocal.

    Zakky, listening to Armin?

You can listen to ASOT (A state of trance, his show) on these stations: http://www.astateoftrance.com/stations/
Although it's been a bit hit and miss the last year or so for me. Sometimes some great shows, other times just doesn't cut it for me anymore (Although I feel there is a mass release of sub-standard music coming out at the moment, so don't be scared to be picky! )

I *think* you can also stream it from the website, but it needs Silverlight.

Re: Armin Van Buuren: which album to start with

Which is where TATW (trance around the world) comes in handy - because that streams in it's own stand alone player - I've never streamed ASOT off the website before.

But yes - be prepared to be picky - even though these guys generally choose the best of the best even they have off days. Try some other shows too. - Aly and Fila, Ferry Corsten also have good shows.

Zakky is the epitome of cool. but we knew that.

What's next then for Zak33's ears to listen to?

Is it going to be some Dubstep? Grime? Breaks? Electro?

Oh and Agent... Some of the music has gone really down the pan recently and I've stopped listening to the radio now and getting more from TMB. I've had the Chase & Status EM playing for a few days now on the phone (mp3 mode) and people have even commented on how good it is for Drum & Bass.

Re: Armin Van Buuren: which album to start with

I dabble in a bit of trance every now and again. Got into it again after going to Glade a couple of years ago (in the 2007 floods!).

Nano records offer some reasonable trance offerings, with quite a lot of free downloads here:
