    Re: Inglourious Basterds

10/10 for me. i can sit inside teh cinema all day watching a bunch of people talk all day in one scene.

Thats how good Tarrantino is when it comes to dialogues in movies. there is not a director out their IMO that can do a better job.

The storyline was great, teh humour was funny and the action was on point.

film of the year for me

    Re: Inglourious Basterds

    Well what a movie.

Great dialogue. Superb characters. Christophz Waltz as Colonel Hans Landa was a major plus for me, how he built tension in scenes I thought was brilliant. Mike Myers or General Ed Fenech can't do accents it appears as he still sounded just like Austin Powers which I found amusing. Well written film, however I can't see many of ladies enjoying it, much more of a male movie IMO. Abit rushed toward the end, with everything happening at once and a huge twist, The Ingorious Basterds as a group were not really shown and I thought you would get some character building? However It's 8/10 for me. Worth a watch

I enjoyed it but wouldn't say it's Tarrantino's best film, but worth a watch.

Saw it yesterday - worth going for Col. Hans Landa alone. I'm betting that Waltz will earn an Oscar for that performance.

    Re: Inglourious Basterds

I really loved this movie. Apart from anything else, it's always good to see a bunch of Nazis being shot to hell. I am not a previous fan of Tarantino movies, but I will definitely look up his back library.

Got to agree it was a superb performance by him, he made the film IMO.

    Re: Inglourious Basterds

I've just watched this movie. While I enjoyed it, I think Tarantino's movies are too inconsistent. It's like he gets bored half way through and suddenly decides Abraham Lincoln riding slow-mo on a giraffe to Quiet Riot would be a great idea. A lot of the scenes in his movies are too pretentious as if they're the most artistic and meaningful segments of cinematography ever, except they often don't seem to fit in well.

In Inglourious Basterds, Shosanna was putting on her makeup before the big night with a David Bowey track playing over the scene. What relevence does that have to Nazis in the Second World War? After that, there was scribbled text floating above two people's heads, I can't remember who. But the text was only there to introduce those two people. Why was the text not used before, and why was it not used for more people?

I enjoyed it. Still not as good as some of Quentin Tarantino's others though, such as Pulp Fiction.

    Re: Inglourious Basterds

I thought it was okay. I liked the German Colonel chap, loved the card game scene and Brad Pitt saying "grazie" was hilarious. Seemed to be completely unnecessary and gratuitous violence at times though, it's like he put it in just for the sake of it, it added nothing at all to the film. Like others have said, hate the way he jumps around between styles for no reason, it just gets boring after a while, seems like he's making a film that he himself can watch back in the privacy of his own bedroom whilst indulging in self-love and marvelling at how he's captured the quintessence of each genre.

    Re: Inglourious Basterds

    Look at the lineup:-

    Winner: Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)
    Matt Damon (Invictus)
    Woody Harrelson (The Messenger)
    Christopher Plummer (The Last Station)
    Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones)

We have Matt Damon and Woody Harrelson (not sure of the last two) in there! I might be out of the loop but who would have thought they would be able to stake a place?

WRT IB; I have to say I was not impressed with any of it. Definately not a film I would be happy to pay to watch again. I am suspicious as to whether Bradd Pitts role was lifted out of burn after reading.
