Question Dr Who: Waters of Mars

Dr Who: Waters of Mars, so what did we think? Worth the wait?

Personally I thought, for a single episode story it was solid, tense & built nicely. Can't wait for the new series to kick off

Yes. Good to see something new actually happen, though Christopher Eccleston could have done it even more justice.

I was a bit disappointed with this one. The writing was just over-sentimental and sloppy. I found the plot holes just a bit too glaring to ignore.

Old Who (John Pertwee/Tom Baker)> New Who

Seriously, check the oldies out. They rock!

(But 0iD is probably old enough to remember them anyway )

Re: Dr Who: Waters of Mars

I am not a Dr Who fan but my other half is and she made us watch it last night (after forcing me to Sky+.)
I quite enjoyed it though it suffered from its usual overblownitis in places it was a good episode. I found Ecclestone to be a very poor Doctor though I'm not sure why as I think he's a great actor.

Tom Baker was the best, anyway!

I may well see the remainder of David Tennant's tenure and give the new fella a go too, I think he's going to be better than a lot of people think.

Re: Dr Who: Waters of Mars

I enjoyed it quite alot - i could actually quite easily see the story being used in a non-Who way, i.e. some random traveler in a general Sci-Fi film. Well, apart from the bit when he starts shouting about being The Time Lord!

Re: Dr Who: Waters of Mars

Waters On Mars was a 50/50 episode as far as I reckon.

You saw the doctor slowly thinking in different ways to his normal pattern which is probably an easy way to start the transition towards the new doctor.

Oh and Chris Eccleston was cracking as the Doctor. Saying that I'm a Manc and probably biased in my view but the episode where he says he's from the 'north' had me chuckling a little bit.

The new doctor better be good or I'll not bother watching the newer ones.
