Haha, doesn't look so bad to me, but then I love martial arts films :p
Although, it's set in China and they're not doing karate... fail!
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
Its going to have more humour than the original, you can see that from the trailer..
If its got classic Jackie Chan in it it'll be fine, and it looks like Jayden has a bit of his old mans humour as well, cant be bad...
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
I hope this is a decent remake of what is/ was a classic film and one I enjoyed watching when i was younger.
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
I dunno I quite like the look of that. The whole Karate name is a bit of a misnomer though when they're blatantly all doing Chinese arts as you say, but hey I can overlook that.
Love the fly swatter approach too. :D
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
I think it's gonna be crap. They can use the theme but don't write the title as Karate Kid when it is not even japanese related!
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
reminds me of the remake of the italian job aha

Your a disgrace to all real martial art film lovers then.
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.

Still cant forget the scene where he says ' a man that catch fly with chopstick can achieve anything', and then ralph gets its first time :D
This remake looks decent though, but I don't think it will top the original.
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
looks really bad. remake my arse, set in china doing kung fu NOT karate!!
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
Hahah, that looks alright to me. Must have been a lot of fun for Mini Will Smith to make.
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
I was just saying in the Thing thread about an 80's season my local cinema had, I also saw the original Karate Kid there, it was absolutely awesome on the big screen!
That last scene is truly thrilling in the cinema, I dread to think what a massacre this remake will be!
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
Its the kung-fu (little) kid. I think he is too young it almost leaning towards 3 ninja kids and the lost treasure territory.
Re: The Karate kid, its so bad even the trailer makes it look bad.
What is with this blatant exploitation of 80s nostalgia??? Have there been any decent remakes/sequels released in the last 5 years? I wish people would start voting with their wallets and simply not watching them so they might stop making them and sullying the good names of the original films. I mean, look at the latest Indiana Jones..... :puke: And apparently they're remaking The A Team!?!?!? It would be hard enough to replace Face and Murdock, but BA??? The guy they have got playing him actually has the same hairstyle and everything, but how could ANYONE live up to Mr.T?
