    Sherlock Holmes

Well guys seen this last night. It was ok i guess.... Story was a bit naff and some things that were in the trailer weren't actually in the film.... Thought the actors were good though!

    Anyone else seen it?

    Re: Sherlock Holmes

Yeah went to see it yesterday.

On the whole i thought it was pretty good. The casting was great, Downey Jr. played Holmes well and Jude Law was a good sidekick. The villains were suitably evil and the sets were visually great. CGI was sparing (for the better) and i couldn't fault the bluescreens.

The story was a little patchy in places (and the electrical physics made me cringe, erm a capacitor that more or less fully discharges again and again?) , but the ending was satisfying and nicely lined up for a sequel if they decide to do one. There were a few lines which i genuinely chuckled at (such as the comments to the inspector) and the humour wasn't overdone. I did like how everything was explained at the end, not spoiling it for anyone else

    Re: Sherlock Holmes

I went to see this tonight. I was well aware it was a 12a and so a little dumbed down in some parts and not as much violence as I had expected, however, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pretty long (around 2 hours I guess) and I wasn't bored throughout any of it. Characters were solid, story was good (whilst being silly / fantasy) and the CG was impressive without being in your face and annoying.

Downey and Jude Law were excellent and Racheal McAdams is a welcome sight for the eyes any day of the week.
I would personally recommend seeing it!

May be something for me to check after work on Saturday.

Apparently Downey Jr said if he just alternated to making follow ups to this, and Iron Man, he'd be happy.

small problem there downey is a brilliant actor but hes been on the wagon for a few years now which means he is due to be found in a hotel room with some strippers and a suitcase full of snow, and his mates jim beam and jack Thats what he usually does after a couple of good films

    Re: Sherlock Holmes

Saw this film on Sunday and really enjoyed it, all actors were good, the fight scenes were good and it has been nicely left open for a second. Also, after seeing the Iron Man 2 trailor, I really cant wait to see that film.
