    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

    Loads of gigs over the years, but the most memorable;

    Blind Melon - Crammed in a Van Tour 199?
    Eagles - 2001
    Faithless - no idea when, amazing live though
    Green Day - early 2005 and tickets for 2010
    Guns N Roses - 4 times over the years, earliest was with a full line up, latest was "Axl & friends" in 2007 (or 6, or 8... can't remember )
    Matchbox 20 - No idea when
    Nirvana - Reading/Leeds 1992 - had tickets for the "In Utero" tour too but didn't get to see them for obvious reasons (+ assortment of other bands, Therapy?, Pumpkins, Pavement, Manics)
    Oasis - 2009 (failed to see them in 199? due to French port blockades)
    Pink Floyd
    Prodigy - 1992(?) and hopefully 2010
    Skunk Anansie - 1997

    Would have liked to have seen MJ (I had tickets...) in 2009 but that wasn't to be...

    2010: I have tickets for Green Day, Bon Jovi <cough> and a few others.

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

    I've done far too many gigs to list and recite them all in order as it got to the point I was going out 2-4 times a week seeing people gig and DJ at various nights around the North West and beyond

    The next one I really want to get down to is FUSE on the 15th Jan as they are doing a special 1 off gig with the Autobots and the Electrosluts dropping some 'phat' breaks back at the roadhouse in Manchester.

    Earls Court 1994(?) IIRC - never before has the sound of a lawn mower impressed me as much as it did that day.

    Went to Mastodon last night at Mancs academy.

    I'm not overly enamoured with them after they decided that it was appropriate to finish miles before the curfew...

    Although the way things are going there could be a shake-up in the lineup... Or even full on split...

    Apparently, they had a big bust up earlier on in the week, and after the gig they all went off on their own.

    It will hopefully blow over and smooth everything out

    Feeder @ Brixton Academy

    And that's it.

    Only seen them once, and now it looks like it might be the end of the line for Feeder

    Saw the Amateur Transplants yesterday, which was absolutely brilliant - would highly recommend them, although it doesn't really count I guess

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

    Without going back too far and off the top of my head:

    In 2010:
    Errors
    Three Trapped Tigers
    Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra
    Pavement ATP - Pavement were excellent but otherwise a bit of a let down
    Holy F***
    Low
    65daysofstatic

    Not much planned for 2011 so far:
    Mogwai
    Animal Collective ATP

    Best ever music event was probably Supersonic Festival in 2007. Bought tickets solely based on the fact that Mogwai were playing (and it was £35 for 2 days), but was impressed by so many acts I'd never heard of - F*** Buttons, Qui, Modified Toy Orchestra, Duracell, Tungg the first that come to mind

    <edit>
    Oh I'd forgotten ATP Vs the Fans in 2007, that was even better

    * 65daysofstatic
    * Akron/Family
    * Architecture In Helsinki
    * Bat For Lashes
    * Battles
    * Cornelius
    * Daniel Johnston
    * Do Make Say Think
    * The Go! Team
    * Modest Mouse
    * Mogwai
    * The Notwist
    * Patti Smith
    * Shellac
    * Slint
    * Sparklehorse
    * Wilco
    * Yo La Tengo
    * Youthmovies

    2007 was a damn good year
