    Gigs - Past/Present/Future

Where are you going/have you been?

What artists are you going to see/have been to see?

    Simple concept, list who/where/when.

If listing a festival list the bands that you actually went to see, i.e. if you went to download you could break it down to Faith no More, etc etc.

You can also include local bands

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

First gig I ever went to was Muse supported by Coldplay ( which seems crazy to think of now both being rather huge). It was at the Wolverhampton Civic in 2000.

Mostly play Showbiz mixed with songs I've never heard since and it was pretty special all together.

Not long after I saw Lost Prophets not knowing who they were on a random bar stage. But I went straight out the next day, hunted around for an album (having not found one at the gig) and so I actually have the original clear cased version of fake sound of progress, far superior it is too

Also saw My Vitriol before they stopped doing anything of interest, apart from making people wait for new albums etc..

Big gap, there were gigs but nothing of great interest. Pitchshifter were interesting enough.

I was at Download 06 but just for the Friday and although, tool, deftones and Coheed and Cambria (I like them...) were good the stand out band were in the tent, Dredg. They played for about half and hour and were amazing. Having known them for a long time and having missed an opportunity to see them due to the London bombing I had been waiting a long time for that. It was really great

Most recently I saw Placebo (a couple of weeks ago), I don't much like them and the support was dire (and the tickets were stupidly priced...) but it was actually the first gig the Mrs has ever really gone to so it was quite special for her and in turn for me.

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

I went through a phase of not being able to avoid Seth Lakeman a couple of years ago - he turned up at off the tracks, supporting the Levs at Birmingham Academy, then at Greenbelt too!

Otherwise - caught Tori Amos @ Manchester Apollo and Counting Crows @ MEN back in ~ Jan 2003
The Levellers @ Birmingham Academy: Mark Knopfler; The Darkness supported by Ash, both at Birmingham NEC: all in 2005/06

Mostly we catch local bands though (far too many to list, particularly if i added all the gigs I played / supported at as well ) - special mention to Manchester-based Gone Til Winter, who're pretty damn good...

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

Hmmmm Think I'm going to show my age here

Bought tickets to (£25!!!) Guns N Roses Wembley 1991 - but my boss at the time would not give me the Saturday off work!!!!!! So .......................

First ever gig was at Brixton Academy in 1992 Suicidal Tendencies supported by Rage against the Machine - What a first gig, thought I was going to get squashed to death against the railings at the front!!!

Then from there I can remember:

95 - 99 Mainly Clubbing days so not many gigs as such, but did see plenty of DJ's!

November 1997 Birmingham NEC DJ Shadow + Radiohead OK Computer

V98 Chelmsford: The Verve, The Charlatans, The Seahorses,Green Day,
Space, Iggy Pop, James, Stereophonics, Ian Brown, Catatonia, Gomez,
    James Brown.

    1999 Gomez Shephards bush empire

V99 Manic Street Preachers, Kula Shaker, Happy Mondays, Supergrass, Cast, The Levellers, Gomez, Faithless, Afro Celt Sound System.

2001 Charlatans & Starsailor Wembley Arena

    2003 Rolling Stones Twickenham

    2005 Depeche Mode Paris

    2006 The Feeling Brighton Dome

    2007 Keane Wembley Arena
    2007 Keane 02 Arena London
    2007 Magic Numbers Brixton Academy
    2007 Arctic Monkeys Brixton Academy
    2007 Muse Wembley Stadium (New)
2007 Muse Royal Albert Hall (Teenage Cancer Trust Gig)

    2008 The Enemy Brixton Academy
    2008 The Coral Camden Roundhouse

V2009 Chelmsford Elbow, James, Snow Patrol, Oasis (on no they cancelled )
    2009 Keane O2 Arena London
    2009 Muse O2 Arena London
2009 Fleetwood Mac 02 Arena Dublin
2009 Them Crooked Vultures Hammersmith Apollo

2010: V2010 & Muse Wembley Stadium, so far

I'm sure there are a few i've forgotton ! they were probably the best gigs!!!
And you will notice a rather ecclectic mix of music, that's partly my diverse taste and partly to keep the missus happy

Past No particular order as I don't really remember the dates
    • Greenday @ MK Bowl - American idiot tour and first ever gig, Hard Fi, Jimmy Eat World and Taking back Sunday were support!
    • Global Gathering 06 - First and only ever festival I've been to
    • Television Personalities @ Club 100 (I think) in London
    • Polysics @ various Barflys in London - Awesome Japanese band
    • Supergrass, Richard Ashcroft and the Go Team @ Brixton Academy London
    • Mylo @ University of East Anglia - just before DR Pressure was released iirc
    • Pendulum DJ set @ Leek Road Venue, Stoke
    • We Are Scientists @ Loughborough University
    • My Chemical Romance, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, David Grey, Pussycat Dolls @ Live Earth - Wembley Stadium
    • Muse @ Wembley Stadium - week before Live Earth date Harrp was recorded I believe!
    • Elliot Minor @ numerous places including Carling Academy Oxford & Astoria London
    • McFly @ Apollo London - really good gig despite not really being my thing
    • Pendulum @ Bournemouth International Centre (BIC)
    • Dance Nation @ Cardiff (unknown venue name) - sadly a crowd filled with teenage girls but on the plus side I did get to see Sash! perform live as well as see September in person Sadly missed out on meeting Basshunter, Sash and September and getting photos afterwards like my friends did

Madness / Christmas 1980 / Brighton Entertainment Centre
Then a bit of a gap...
    Roger Waters /2002 / Wembley
    Chili Peppers / 2003 / Hyde Park
    And that's about it.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

There just isn't enough space here or memory power to give justice to my 28 years of gigging

First minor gig was Dr Feelgood in Chelmsford or Southend, I don't recall, Motorhead's Ace up your sleeve tour @ Hammersmith, Metallica Ride the Lightning tour @ the Lyceum Ballroom, Anthrax F*ck the Fallout tour @ the Town & Country with Rogue Male,... Bad Brains, Black Flag. D.R.I. Discharge, GBH, etc in the early/mid 80's... many Donnington park Monsters of Rock & Reading Rock Festivals with the likes of AC/DC, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath etc.

    I feel soo old

    Re: Gigs - Past/Present/Future

Can't remember the order or venue, but:

    Alkaline Trio - 2005 - Glasgow Barrowlands
    Green Day - 2009 - SECC
    Enter Shikari - 2007 - Glasgow Barrowlands
God Forbid - 2006 - Carling Academy Glasgow (now O2 Academy)
    Madball - 2006 - QMU
    Unearth - 2006 - QMU
    Manntis - 2006 - QMU
    Terror - 2006 - QMU
    Chimaira - 2006 - QMU
    Trivium - 2006 - Carling Academy Glasgow
    Fear Factory - 2006 - The Garage
    Breed77 - 2006 - The Garage

That's about it I think. Hardly any of my friends share my taste in music so I tend to miss out on a lot of gigs.

Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
