Definitely, a really enjoyable movie. For a very low budget sci-fi film I was stunned at how amazing the effects looked

I haven't seen that many but Gran Torino for me. Clint reminds me about how my Grandad is (96 year old now) with his racist views. Other than that I loved Watchmen as I was expecting a typical superhero film and didn't get one.

    Re: Favorite film of 2009

Watchmen and Inglourious Basterds were right up there for me, haven't seen either Gran Tourino or District 9 though. Star Trek was fun and a great restart for the series but not the best of 2009.

Didn't think much of Avatar beyond the visuals though (which were spectacular).

    Re: Favorite film of 2009

I haven't had a chance to see Avatar in 2009, it was released last year and I'm pretty certain it would have been my favourite. This year for film like most in others in recent times hasn't been bad, but hasn't been great. 2008 was a lot better with e.g. the Bourne Ultimatum etc.

Once the gloss had disappeared Transformers II's story was just dire. GI Joe looked good too but was bland. I enjoyed District 9, Star Trek, Wrestler, Gran Torino and Inglorious Basterds but wouldn't be able to sit through them again. Up was excellent though. So just because in my opinion the story was the best, I'd say Watchmen. It looked bloody good too.

    Re: Favorite film of 2009

District 9 for me, though I have to admit I haven't seen Up or Avatar yet. D9 was an amazing film though, I was expecting it to be a bit terrible, in all honesty, as it hadn't received much hype in the run up to launch, yet I was blown away by how good it was. Superb acting, great CGI, nice plot. Seen it 4 times and still enjoyable each time I've seen it.

    Re: Favorite film of 2009

Probably Avatar, even though it was heavily flawed.

District 9 annoyed me, and not seen Up (yet)

Gran Torino was excellent... but was it really only last year? Seems like it was 2008, could be wrong though.

Flammen og citronen or Inglorious Bastards highlights of 2009 for me.

    Let The Right One In
    Moon
    District 9
    Gran Torino

Can't say which was my favourite, all different and great in their own ways. Star Trek and Avatar 3D were better than i expected too.

    Re: Favorite film of 2009

There were some good films out last year. I'd have to go for Inglorious Basterds, Watchmen and Star Trek.

I would have to say Avatar, although Inglorious Bastards comes close!
