    Hybrid - Disappear Here

    Best album of the year.

Loved Hybrid for over 10 years, but this is their best work.

If you like what you see and have yet to get the album then I urge you to take a listen.

Have to agree, this is all i've been listening to for the last week or so in the car... the varied sound of Disappear Here, the full-on club track Original Sin, the wonderful Numb, they've hit the nail with this one.

Hybrid have had a varied past with the roots in the Dance/Trance explosion of 98-01 but with a love of classical strings and orchestral sounds. I think the addition of Charlotte James as a permanent member of the band is fantastic, adding a genuine singer/songwriter to a dance group to make major contributions to the writing rather than just as a guest is going to lead to great things in the future too.

Their sound has matured, they're embracing the sound of being a band and combining it with their trademark orchestral score-esque sound but adding the festidious sampling and editing of a true dance producer, although in more subtle ways. A similar route to other producers like BT have taken this past few years. IMO records like this and BT's most recent two albums are the true evolutions of electronic music and will lead the way to it gaining true respect.

edit: gtech - have you heard the remix of "Break my Soul" (Hybrid's Kill City Sounds Mix 01) - from 3:30 - WOW

Cool, didn't know if you'd have already heard it, Hybrid did a couple of mixes for the site Sinning in LA where they mixed all the main remixes from the new album, you can get them from Hybridized.org, loving the March mix from Nocturnal on there too

    Re: Hybrid - Disappear Here

Been years since I last listened to any Hybrid, just the thing to get back in to it.

Picked the album up yesterday, but only had time to listen to a few minutes of the first track, so can't really compare yet.
