    UK Napster alternative?

I subscribe to napster so I can download unlimited songs and play them on my mp3 player.
They have a good range of tracks but the software is clunky, crashes on occasion and doesn't work with some mp3 players.

Can anyone suggest a similar service where you have unlimited downloads and ability to transfer to an mp3 player.

It has to be able to be used in the UK(as I know rhapsody is a similar service but not available in the uk).
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

    How about Rhapsody?

Also, does Spotify let you download to keep? I think it does.

Rhapsody is not available in the UK, as that was my 1st choice.

Even if that was possible, it would definitely be illegal.

If you could subscribe for one month, download every song in their library, and legally take off the DRM, they wouldn't exist.

    Re: UK Napster alternative?

Which Napster subscription have you got? I'm on the £5 a month one, unlimited streaming and 5 free downloads.

Spotify lets you play your tracks offline on your mobile/PC but only as long as you have a subscription. As soon as you stop paying, you lose your tracks. Plus that's the £10 a month option only.

You want something like a Zune pass really.

I didn't think there were that many subscriptions that gave you unlimited downloads any more, it's seems infeasible since you could download all the music you need in one month and stop. Not future proof of course...

AFAIK, the idea is that the DRM expires after 30 days unless it's updated, or something else that achieves the same result. So once you've downloaded the music, you've got to keep subscribing or you can't play your music anymore, despite the fact that it's sitting on your hard drive.

Ah, my mistake. I didn't realise that /uk on their site was just doing a search for UK. Oh well.
