Valhalla Rising

Anyone else seen this yet? It does appear to be the "Marmite film" of the moment, with many people either loving or hating it -(I think many people have watched it expecting/hoping for 300/Braveheart or some something that type and so are disappointed)

Just watched it for the second time and have to say i fall very much into the "love it" camp -easily my film of 2010 so far. I may be biased as a long term fan of Refn's work (not probably well known outside of Denmark) but must say he has excelled himself with this.

Powerful deep stuff, violent, brutal, horrific, brooding dark and relentlessly bleak are the words i would describe this - yet with stunning beautiful cinematography (filmed in Scotland) and a thumping soundtrack. I can maybe see in some ways why some people may have found this "slow" but i think without the pace the afore mentioned qualities would of been lost.
