    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt0UuNpUqK4 ?

    Non-film stuff could include:
    Schuberts Fantasia
    1812 overture (obviously )
Eine klien nacht musik - probably spelt wrong.
    Turkish March
    Moonlight sonata.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Funnily enough i heard an acoustic cover of this in 8th day (says it all) on Oxford Rd. and this is equally impressive.

    Re: Classical Music

    How long have you got?

I don't rate that Joel Goldsmith peice at all, which means either I'm a snob or you've got even more delights ahead of you

If you like stringsy music then you've got everything from the excitment of Vivaldi (four seasons is a popular one), the hauntingness of Barber's Adagio for strings, the lyricalness of Vaughan Williams' Lark Ascending, the resonance of V-W's Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis to the violence of Schubert's Death and the Maiden.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg

Some examples - V-W Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y7nJL1hpUU

    Barber's Adagio for strings:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV3SHBFyDZM

Schubert Death and the Maiden (movt. 1):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoZJkkWX8Yw

I'm more of a choral bloke myself and could literally be here all night suggesting pieces I think you'd love, like:

I've got a couple of their albums, Plays Metallica is excellent and on that note (pardon the pun), S&M by Metallica is also fantastic.

    Re: Classical Music

By all means mate, take all night Thanks for the suggestions! Ill get listening asap

I really liked J.S. Bach: Toccata & Fugue

    and

Beethoven Symphony No.7 in A Major, Op. 92 II. Allegretto which I heard in a film called "The Fall" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460791/

Which I would recommend anyone hasnt seen it to watch! Does this help you any more in regards to what I like listening too?

Really liked Barber's Adagio for strings but wasn't as keen on Schubert Death and the Maiden.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDRoL7ziDP4 - I like this - think it is in the civilization game

    Re: Classical Music

Vaughan Williams' London Symphony was great fun to play in an orchestra, also Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev and The planets by Holst.

Thanks kal for reminding me of Fantasia on a theme! Played that in an orchestra too, was great fun although nothing will quite top messaeien (if that's how you spell it).

Incidentally Terb, by a freak occurence that's about the only place in Manchester whose location in could describe to someone!

Edit! How could I forget! Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg!

Also if you listen to London Symphony then you'll understand why this is relevant: HAVE A BANANA!

    I reccommend spotify btw!

If you want a more condensed but all round style of classical you should check out Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPpeHIH7HSU

Messiaen. But I don't that's the kind of thing you should be exposed to early in your musical journey.. or when you're too young an age! (It messes with your head). I'm trying to keep the suggestions simple at the moment

For something bang up to date check out Memory Takes My Hand by Craig Armstrong.. You Tube Vid about it

A project he did a couple of years ago, with a Violin Concerto, then 15 one minute pieces inspired by Glasgow, and then Memory Takes My Hand.

Oh wow, you really like a wide open range don't you? That covers everything from a Gregorian chant to Carmina Burana, from Bach to Bruckner, from a Bach church organ solo to a Haydn string quartet to a full symphony orchestra.

    Some superb examples :-

    - Carmina Burana - Carl Orff
    - Messiah - Handel
    - Brandenburg - Bach
    - Magnificat - Bach
    - A Night on the Bare Mountain - Mussorgsky
    - Four Seasons - Vivaldi
    - Planet Suite - Holst
    - Most Bach Cantatas, like Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen (the Emma Kirkby version is a personal favourite)
    - most Bach Orgelwerke (Organ works).

The list could go on, and on, and on.

So much depends, though, on what you like, what mood you're in and even what recording you choose.

That last bit can be very important. Everything we hear these days is an interpretation, and interpretations vary considerably, from one recording to another. But, personally, I'm more of a fan of the lighter classics, Bach, Mozart, etc, than Beethoven, or even a Rachmaninoff piano piece, let alone Bruckner.
